Which Games Use 60mm Square Bases?
The 60mm square is the largest in our range — the base for the single model an entire army is built around:
- Warhammer Fantasy Battle – the classic size for the biggest monsters, chariots and war machines.
- Warhammer: The Old World – used for large monstrous models and war machine crews. Check your army list for the exact size on a given unit.
- Kings of War – for oversized monsters and multi-part models that need a square footprint.
- The Ninth Age and other rank-and-file systems – wherever a centerpiece model needs square edges rather than a round.
The classic beveled square profile gives your models a clean, professional appearance and keeps even your largest pieces consistent with the rest of the army.
Built for the Weight
Made from high-quality 3D printed PLA, Terrain Genesis bases are built with a solid, sturdy design that provides excellent rigidity. At 4mm high, the 60mm is a touch deeper in section than our 20mm to 40mm squares — that extra millimetre is what keeps a base this wide flat and stable under a heavy multi-part model. It shares its 4mm height with our 50mm square, so the two sit level alongside each other.
Textured Tops for Easier Basing
Every base is printed with a textured top surface, giving glue, sand, flock and texture paste something to key into. Basing materials grip far more readily than they do on a smooth face — worth a great deal on a base this size, where scenic groundwork often does as much work as the model itself.
Glue-Free Magnet Holes
Every base also has a magnet hole printed directly into it, sized to hold a magnet on friction alone. No glue required — magnets snap in by hand, or tap home with a light touch from a plastic mallet. Both versions have the hole; the only difference is whether the magnets come in the box.
