Movement Trays for 28mm Round Bases
Terrain Genesis movement trays for miniatures mounted on 28mm round bases. Pick up and reposition a whole unit in one motion instead of moving models one at a time, and keep your spacing consistent from turn to turn.
Currently available in 5 and 10 model sizes: straight rows for units that rank up, and cloud and staggered formations that hold a unit in coherency without lining it up like a parade ground.
Not sure of your base size? “28mm” usually describes the scale of a miniature rather than the diameter of its base, and plenty of 28mm scale models actually sit on 25mm or 32mm rounds. Measure one base before ordering, then pick 25mm trays, these 28mm trays, or 32mm trays to match. The full range is in movement trays.
Every tray is 3D printed in the USA in durable PLA with a low profile, so your miniatures still look like they are standing on the table rather than on a plinth.
Choosing the Right 28mm Movement Tray
| Models | Formation | Layout |
|---|---|---|
| 5 | Straight | One row of five |
| 5 | 3x2 Cloud | Three front, two rear, staggered for coherency |
| 10 | 5x5 Straight | Two clean rows of five |
| 10 | 3x4x3 Cloud | Three, four, three: the classic cloud |
| 10 | 2x3x2x3 | Four staggered ranks |
Will these fit my 28mm miniatures?
Check the base, not the model. 28mm normally describes the scale of a miniature rather than the diameter of its base, and a lot of 28mm scale models are supplied on 25mm or 32mm round bases. Measure one base across before ordering: if it is 28mm across, these are the right trays, and if not we make 25mm and 32mm versions too.
What size tray do I need?
Count the miniatures in the unit, then find that number in the table above. Where two trays hold the same number of models the difference is the shape: straight rows rank up tightly, while cloud and staggered trays spread the unit out while keeping every model in coherency.
How do I read a formation like 2x3x2x3?
Each number is one rank, front to back. A 2x3x2x3 tray holds ten models in four staggered ranks of two, three, two and three. A 3x4x3 tray holds ten as well, in ranks of three, four and three.
What are the trays made from?
Every tray is 3D printed in the USA in durable PLA, with a solid base and a low profile so your miniatures still look like they are standing on the table rather than on a plinth.
Do you make trays for other base sizes?
Yes. We make trays for 25mm round bases in sizes from 2 to 22 models, and for 32mm round bases. The whole range is in our movement trays collection.
