Which Games Use 30x60mm Bases?
This is the heavy cavalry base — and the one that changed:
- Warhammer: The Old World – the base for heavy cavalry and knights. When The Old World launched, knights moved up from 25x50mm to 30x60mm, making this the most common rebasing job for a returning army. Empire Knights, Chaos Knights, Bretonnian Knights, Black Knights and Blood Knights all sit here.
- Kings of War and other rank-and-file systems – wherever armoured cavalry needs a wider frontage than light horse.
If your cavalry is still on 25x50mm, that size is now for light and fast cavalry — warhounds, wolf riders and skeleton light horse kept the smaller base.
Built for the Weight
Made from high-quality 3D printed PLA with a solid, sturdy design. At 4mm high, the extra section keeps a long rectangle flat and stable under a mounted model, where a thinner base would flex.
Textured Tops for Easier Basing
Every base is printed with a textured top surface, giving glue, sand, flock and texture paste something to key into. Basing materials grip far more readily than they do on a smooth face.
Glue-Free Magnet Holes
Every base has one 5mm x 2mm magnet hole printed directly into it, sized to hold a magnet on friction alone. No glue required — magnets snap in by hand, or tap home with a light touch from a plastic mallet. Both versions have the hole; the only difference is whether the magnets come in the box.
