Thirty years at the same anvil have left him with forearms like cable and strong opinions about people who treat good steel badly. He is not unfriendly. He is just busy, and you are standing where the light is.
Desmond works as the town smith your party returns to between adventures, a quest-giver with a job that starts small, or simply the fixture that makes a settlement feel inhabited. He comes with his anvil, so the forge is a scene rather than a single figure standing on his own. The 32mm version drops straight into standard tabletop play. The 75mm version is built for display, where the apron leather and hammered metal reward a slower paint job.
